A Veridian Connections crew has returned from a trip to Connecticut where it helped to restore power following a trio of vicious storms.
The seven-member crew includes three workers from Belleville and was dispatched to Hartford on March 3 to help repair extensive damage and get power back for some 243,000 customers.
The work included replacing 400 utility poles, stringing 110 miles of new overhead lines and completely rebuilding parts of the area’s electrical system.
Veridian President and CEO Michael Angemeer praised the crew for its efforts and noted the company’s track record of helping out in emergency situations, including last September, when a Veridian crew went to Florida to help repair damage from Hurricane Irma.
