Hospice Quinte has announced the theme of its 2018 Gala is Nuit Blanche, a fundraiser celebrating in white.
The Gala is a major fundraiser for Quinte Hospice which assists terminally ill people and their caregivers by offering support and companionship.
The plans for the new hospice house in Bayside will be unveiled at the Gala. It will be a six-bed facility for terminally ill people.
At the announcement Tuesday, at Belleville Armouries, Marketing and Business Development Coordinator Michael Kelly told Quinte News that last year 530 people gave 29,000 volunteer hours.
#1 HOSPICE GALA
This year’s goal is $120,000. Kelly says the money is used to pay for a bereavement councillor on staff, training for volunteers, as well as maintaining an office.
The Gala is April 7 at Belleville Armouries.
Kelly says, “There are many ways the community can help make the gala a success, by purchasing tickets, sponsoring, or donating items to our live and silent auction.”
He adds that individual tickets are $150 and a corporate table is $2,200.
To find out how to sponsor or donate to the gala you can contact Kelly at 613-966-6610 ext. 221 or by email at michael.kelly@hospice-quinte.ca.
