Council in Brighton isn’t changing its mind when it comes to financially supporting the hard luck Presqu’ile Point Lighthouse Preservation Society.
OPP are now conducting a fraud investigation after about $70,000 went missing from the Society’s bank account recently.
OPP say a Society board member, a man, has claimed responsibility for the fraud.
According to Northumberland News, last night Brighton council decided to set aside $12,500 in its 2018 budget for the Society but will withhold any payments until the police investigation is complete.
No charges have been laid yet.
