Central Hastings OPP are reminding snowmobile operators to use caution after two riders crashed and were taken to hospital in the past few days.
On Friday, around 8:40 p.m., officers were alerted to a single vehicle snowmobile crash on the Hastings Heritage Trail in Tudor-Cashel, by a snow groomer who found the damaged sled, with no driver.
The 30-year-old riding the sled was located at a home nearby with injuries and was taken to hospital, with the investigation continuing.
Then on New Year’s day, officers attended a single vehicle snowmobile crash on Crowe Lake in Marmora, just before 3:00 a.m.
Investigators say the 37-year-old rider hit a fishing hut and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No charges are pending in that incident.
