If it would have been colder by less than half a degree celsius yesterday, we would have set a new low temperature record for a December 28 in the Quinte region.
Environment Canada, using readings from CFB Trenton, reports the temperature bottomed out at minus 27.3 degrees yesterday.
However, back on December 28 in 1993, the mercury hit minus 27.6 degrees, and that record stands.
Meanwhile, it will be cold again today, but we won’t get down to the record low for a December 29 which is
minus 25.6 degrees, set way back in 1944.
