It was another full house at the annual Community Christmas Dinner at Belleville’s Salvation Army church today (Christmas Day).
The turkey with all the trimmings dinner is organized by the Salvation Army and Christmas Sharing and the food and gifts are donated by various companies and other organizations in the community.
Volunteers from various groups cook, serve, and clean up.
One hundred fifty-eight people registered for this year’s dinner which is meant to provide sustenance to the needy as well as companionship for those alone during the holiday season.
Donations for the dinner came from Duffer’s Chip Wagon, Westside Cafe, Avondale Florist, Reid’s Dairy, Culligan, Hanley Corp. (Tim Hortons), Dewe’s Independent, Metro, the Dundas Street KFC, Gleaners Food Bank, Betty’s Bread, Campbell’s Orchard, Bib’s Meat, One to One Fitness and an anonymous donor.
