A successor to late Trent Hills Mayor Hector Macmillan has been named.
Deputy Mayor Robert Crate will take over the role, after council declared the seat vacant on Tuesday and will keep the position until next year’s municipal election.
Crate’s spot on council is now vacant and applications are being accepted to fill that spot, with a candidate expected to be chosen by the end of the year.
Councillor Rosemary Kelleher-McLennan has been named the new Deputy Mayor.
