The Hastings County Historical Society has received a generous donation from an insurance company.
The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group recently presented a cheque for $25,000 to the Society to help cover costs involved in its ongoing historical plaque project.
Six plaques have been unveiled in Belleville this year, and five more are planned for next year.
The Commonweall Mutual Insurance Group also donated to five other heritage organizations in eastern Ontario.
