A pilot program, which treats patients who need care in their homes is getting an extension.
The Community Paramedicine Program brings medical professionals into a patients home and provides advanced care.
The Southeast Local Health Integration Network is now providing $125,000 to expand the program for another 18 months.
Chief of Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services Doug Socha says it helps provide a higher quality of life and reduces medical emergencies.
Socha says that at the one year mark, they will see how the program has done.
The goal is to continue it permanently.
