The on- and off-ramps of the eastbound 401 at Colborne remain closed this morning following a tractor trailer rollover late last night.
OPP say the rig, carrying produce, rolled into the ditch while trying to exit the highway at Big Apple Drive around 11:40 p.m.
The truck’s contents, as well as diesel fuel, were spilled across the on- and off-ramps.
The driver, a 60 year old Quebec man, had to be extricated from the truck.
He was taken to a nearby hospital then airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with life altering injuries.
Both ramps remain closed for investigation but Highway 401 remains open.
