An experienced CC-130 Hercules Pilot has taken over command of an 8 Wing Trenton Squadron, based in Ottawa.
Lieutenant-Colonel David Snow moved into the position at a parade in Ottawa yesterday, replacing Lieutenant-Colonel Aidan Costelloe, who leaves after his two-year term.
Lieutenant-Colonel Snow began his military career as an infantry officer with the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1991 and became a pilot in 2003, working with 413 Search and Rescue Squadron in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.
He flew the CC-130J with 436 Transport Squadron at 8 Wing, between 2010 and 2015 and also recently received his Masters of Defence Studies from the Canadian Forces College in Toronto.
412 Squadron is based in Ottawa but is part of 8 Wing, providing worldwide VIP transportation to high-ranking government officials and foreign dignitaries, operating six CC-144 Challenger aircraft.
