Hastings Prince Edward Public Health says illicit Fentanyl has been found within the region, in a variety of fake prescription pills, as well as hidden in other street drugs such as cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, and marijuana.
Public Health will host an information session on opioids at St. Gregory’s Catholic School in Picton Monday night, and at Trent Port Marina in Quinte West on Thursday.
Public health officials say the Opioid Information Sessions are intended to provide parents and caregivers with information that will help keep their youth safe from opioids and other drugs.
Presentations by health professionals and community partners will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include an overview of opioids and illicit Fentanyl; and an overview of Naloxone, Naloxone kits, and a perspective from local police of what they are seeing in the community.
