The Ben Bleecker building at the Belleville fairgrounds won’t be long for this world.
City Councillor Jack Miller says council will discuss demolishing the building, along with old weathered barns, during capital budget discussions in the fall.
The city now owns the part of the fairgrounds east of Sidney Street, and Councillor Miller says the property has to be made ready for new development.
Meanwhile, negotiations are getting underway as the City of Belleville moves to finish the takeover of the fairgrounds property in the west end.
Councillor Jack Miller says this second round of talks about the huge property west of Sidney Street will be complicated by the fact that the Belleville Agricultural Society, which holds the lease on the land, will have to be moved somewhere else.
