The marina market is getting tighter and tougher, and the City of Quinte West wants to remain number one in the marina business in the Quinte region.
Quinte West’s Corporate Finance Committee is recommending council accept a 5 year business plan for
the Trent Port Marina, without committing funding.
The plan outlines ways the almost new marina might reach break even status or even make a profit.
The plan pushes priorities such as finding space for summer and winter storage for boats and equipment along with offering a lift in lift out service.
Longer term projects might include water taxis and a trolley service to bring boaters to other locations in the community.
The city subsidized the Trent Port Marina by close to $100,00. in its first full year of operation.
