Residents came to the rescue of a handicapped man and his dog in Belleville’s east end in the noon hour Saturday.
The man fell from his motorized wheelchair and his dog subsequently ran into traffic on Dundas Street East.
Concerned residents helped the man back into his wheelchair and pulled the dog from the road.
One of the citizens lost sunglasses during the incident, and city police say they have them at the police station.
