A big search and rescue mission on Amherst Island kept crews busy Saturday night.
According to Kingston Region News, reports indicated that a boat carrying two men capsized around 8 p.m., and that one of the men was able to swim to shore safely, while the other was not.
Multiple rescue crews in the area were on scene to help with the search. This included the Canadian Coast Guard, fire teams from Odessa and Amherstview and a JRCC helicopter from CFB Trenton.
The Amherst Island Ferry was shut down for both the search and rescue mission, as well as a separate ATV accident which reportedly resulted in minor injuries.
