Northumberland OPP have charged a Brighton woman after she allegedly threatened officers with a knife last week.
Police were called to a complaint of an unwanted person at a Brighton Motel, just before 9:30 Friday night, where a woman was causing a disturbance and refused to calm down.
After officers told her to go back to her unit, she complied, but came back out and started swinging a kitchen knife towards officers.
She eventually listened to police and dropped the knife, before being arrested.
59 year-old Deborah Lynn Thompson is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer and one count each of possession of a dangerous weapon, causing a disturbance and being drunk in public.
She was later released from custody with a late June court date in Cobourg.
