A 15 year old boy will enter a special youth program after Belleville police arrested him following a rash of thefts from vehicles in the city’s west end.
After a car alarm went off on Applewood Drive around 1 o’clock this morning (Wednesday), police saw two people leaving the scene on bicycles.
They were stopped on Palmer Road. Police recovered items believed to have been stolen from vehicles on Wright Avenue.
One boy was released unconditionally.
Meanwhile, a young man learned the hard way that ignoring speed limits isn’t a good idea.
Belleville police clocked a driver doing 118 kilometres an hour in a 60 km/h zone shortly after
two o’clock yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) on Old Highway 2.
An 18 year old Belleville man was charged with stunt driving, and lost his licence and his vehicle for 7 days.
He appears in traffic court June 26.
