There’s a new man in charge of the OPP detachment in Prince Edward County.
John Hatch is a third generation OPP officer, with 22 years of experience with the provincial police force and was promoted to the rank of staff sergeant on Monday.
Hatch is a graduate of Royal Military College and has had various OPP postings around the province, with the last three-plus years spent in Prince Edward County, as a front line supervisor.
The current resident of Mountain View enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf and hockey, when he’s not patrolling local roadways.
He takes over for Staff Sergeant Barry Freeburn, who is retiring after a dedicated 33 year policing career.
