The first annual Bay of Quinte Art and Wine Festival is getting set to be held in Belleville in early June.
It will be located across from city hall, on the parking lot, beside the waterfront trail.
It will feature about 50 artists and artisans from throughout the region all under tents, in addition to 10 Prince Edward County wineries and eight local food establishments.
It is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise as a fundraising event.
Festival Chair Tanya Baldwin told city council this week there has been support from the city and the Downtown Business Improvement Association, along with many community organizations and businesses.
Baldwin says it will be a family-friendly event, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 10.
Bazkur told council he expects the event to have an economic impact, showcasing the city’s history and riverfront.
He says the idea is to have the art and wine festival become an annual event.
