There was a potentially dangerous confrontation in the west end of Belleville yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
City police received several calls about a fight on Catharine Street, near Murney Street, with people saying a man had brandished a large knife.
Officers located a suspect nearby on Holloway Street. A large butcher knife was seized by police.
A 21 year old Belleville man was charged with weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation.
No one was injured.
