It should come as no surprise that we’ve smashed some rain records for the area.
According to the CFB Trenton Weather Office, we got 20.6 millimetres of rain between 4:00 p.m. and midnight yesterday, breaking the daily record from 1975 of 17.3 millimetres.
Meanwhile today’s daily record of 14.2 millimetres set in 1990, was broken by mid-morning, after we got 18.1 millimetres between midnight and 8:00 a.m.
In total, by 2:00 p.m. today, the weather office says we’ve had 30-plus millimetres of rainfall.
We’ve also already broken the monthly record for May, of 79.4 millimetres, since we’ve had more than 100 millimetres of rainfall since the start of the month.
