It has already happened nine times this year, and it will happen a tenth.
The Trenton Golden Hawks and the Georgetown Raiders will meet one more time, and this time it is for the Central Canadian Championship (Dudley Hewitt Cup).
On Friday night, the Raiders scored a 2-1 win over the Powassan Voodoos, giving them a birth in the final, against a Trenton team who had the day off.
In the head to head battle this year, Trenton has 3 wins (1 in OT), Georgetown 5 wins (1 in shootout) and 1 tie. Trenton will have to play without one of their top forwards Liam Morgan, who separated his shoulder in the win against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs in the round robin Thursday night. They do however have the benefit of a days rest, while the Raiders will play 5 games in 5 days.
There are tickets still available for the final game. They are available anytime online or after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Box Office at the arena.
Dudley Hewitt Cup Co-organizer Rob McDonald says they are expecting a great crowd and a sellout would be huge.
Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. Organizers are reminding fans that rink 2 will be open and free to the public. You can watch the game on the big screen, with a bar and music.
CJBQ will have the game as well, with the broadcast starting at 7:20 p.m.
