A local school council chair is concerned about the direction of its French immersion program.
Bayside Public School Council Chair Wendy Riley says for the first time, the school’s program has been capped at 60 students, however, they often approach 90 to 100 registrants.
Riley says a cap never happened before and she feels it was done secretly.
Riley says another French Immersion program has been created at Prince Charles Public in Trenton, however, fewer than 15 students have registered.
We have reached out to the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board for comment.
