Prince Edward County has an “exotic animal control bylaw” to control the ownership and exhibition of wild animals and reptiles in the County.
However, the owner of the company “Wild Zoo Parties” wants an exemption to the bylaw to bring his exhibit of small reptiles, mammals, and birds to the county for several education shows.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward County resident, Angela Lammes, told council it’s well known that a lot of kids contract salmonella from touching reptiles and there should no “exotic animal” shows in the county.
Council asked for a staff report before making any decision on an exemption.
