ARREST WARRANTS
A 28-year-old Belleville man was taken into custody Thursday morning on an arrest warrant from Ottawa.
Around 9:30 a.m. city police responded to a call in relation to a barking dog complaint on Sidney Street. A check on the parties involved revealed there was a warrant for his arrest from Ottawa for assault causing bodily harm.
The man was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He was turned over to the Ottawa police officers later in the day.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident a 38-year-old Belleville man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant Thursday night.
At 7:30 p.m. an officer was conducting a traffic stop on George Street when it was determined the man was wanted for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was released from custody with a court date on March 30.
ASSAULT
A 28-year-old Belleville woman is charged with assault and breach of probation following an assault investigation on Pinnacle Street.
A woman reported being assaulted by another woman early yesterday afternoon.
Police located the suspect a few hours later.
She appears for a bail hearing Friday.
Disturbance
Belleville Police investigated a fight early Friday morning on Bell Blvd.
Three males were reportedly involved in the parking lot scuffle and drove off in a pick-up truck.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle and arrested two passengers.
A 22-year-old Belleville man was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
A 23-year-old Centre Hastings man was charged with breaching a condition of his undertaking which included “abstaining from alcohol.”
No one was injured in the original disturbance.
