Supporters of minor baseball in Quinte West are demanding action.
Last night at council’s Corporate Finance Committee meeting, Chris Lisle of the Quinte West Amateur Baseball Association expressed frustration, saying local house league and rep teams were sick of having to play on the road all the time.
Lisle angrily demanded council install lights at the brand new “Bayshore Field” at Centennial Park.
Lisle said the players had been waiting long enough, saying it was crazy to have an expensive new ball diamond that wasn’t being used because it didn’t have lights.
He was told the lights would be installed, but council would have to decide it the work will be done this year or in 2018 during upcoming budget discussions.
