Ahead of Adam Thomas’ bailing hearing in Belleville Wednesday afternoon, Quinte News is learning more details into the stabbing incident that left another man in critical condition.
Twenty-seven-year-old Adam Thomas of Belleville was charged with assault with a weapon on Sunday after an arrest warrant was issued, following a reported brawl between 5 to 10 men on Bridge Street West and Coleman Streets early Friday morning.
Detective Constable Jill McAuley told Quinte News the victim suffered three stab wounds said to be inflicted from an edged weapon. He was then rushed to Kingston General Hospital in critical condition where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit. On Tuesday, officers confirmed he is now in stable condition.
Thomas is scheduled to appear for bail today on charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, failing to comply with a probation order and four counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
It’s expected more details could be released at the bail hearing.
