Prince Edward OPP are looking for witnesses after three people were injured in an altercation in Consecon over the weekend.
At 1:10 a.m. Saturday, OPP were called to Prince Edward Memorial Hospital where two men and a woman were being treated for injuries.
OPP Constable Connor Durkin confirmed that on Friday night sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., a verbal altercation occurred at a convenience store located in the Hamlet between three young men. Constable Durkin said the suspects aren’t known to the victims.
The argument continued onto the highway, where it is alleged a red vehicle was being operated in an aggressive fashion. All involved parties then exited their vehicles and a fight ensued. The two men and woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The mother of one of the victims, a 16-year-old boy immediately took to social media posting photos and also pleading for anyone with information to come forward to police.
Bobbi-Jo Boyce posted on Facebook that her son, friend and his mother were “beaten to a pulp by 4 20-year-old guys, and one female while there was a child in their car.”
She said the suspects had just left the Consecon Variety store where they purchased beer and they were very drunk and out of control and forced the victims off the road. She said the other boy involved was knocked unconscious in the fight.
Boyce wrote the suspects drove a red car, likely a 4 door but everything happened so quickly no one was able to get much detail of the car.
She said both boys are doing okay now.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince Edward OPP or Crime Stoppers.
