It looks like we now know where Belleville’s newest arena facility will go.
Speaking on CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker Show Monday, owner of Rhino Sports and Play Randy Uens, says he has signed a letter of intent with owners of the old Zellers building on Bell Boulevard, to move his business there and include an ice rink, two-thirds-the-size of an NHL rink (135 x 65).
Uens says the rink, being moved here from the US, will make a big difference in developing young players.
Uens says the new rink will also take some pressure off over-used city-owned ice pads.
He is hoping to have the new rink installed by October.
