OPSEU, parents, teachers, students and community members will be rallying in support of Sir James Whitney and Sagonaska Demonstration School in Belleville on Wednesday.
The rally planned to take place along Dundas Street West aims to call on the provincial government to keep the schools open for future generations.
In April, Minister Liz Sandals said the application process at all four of the province’s demonstration schools will resume for the 2016/17 school year at least, but no long-term commitment has been made, to actually keep the schools open.
Wednesday, OPSEU will be hosting their final rally of the 2015/2016 school year in support of the #saveprovschools campaign as they believe it could be their last chance to support the campaign, before the school year ends.
The rally runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pizza will be provided.
