Hastings County is undertaking a survey to determine the extent of the spread of a particular noxious weed in the area.
The province has declared wild parsnip a noxious weed and Hastings County municipalities want to know just how widespread it is in their areas.
Weed inspector John Anstey says it can be a serious problem for some people.
It can also be a problem for farmers in the fields.
Anstey says there are sprays that will kill the weed without harming other plant life.
It can be as serious as a second degree burn.
He expects to report back on the prevalence of the weed by late summer.
