It was an average spring, as far as water flow rates and levels go, across the Quinte Conservation Watershed.
During a presentation to the QC board yesterday, Water Resources Manager Christine McClure noted that flows were the highest in late March and early April, after remaining relatively low to start the year.
Using Foxboro as an example that fits the trend for the whole watershed, McClure says the river was flowing at 202 cubic metres per seconds at its peak.
The typical “danger zone” for significant flooding is a flow rate of about 209 cubic metres per second.
