Plans to expand a trailer park south of Consecon in Prince Edward County are on hold until the municipality has time to investigate resident’s concerns.
Last night council heard from Bay Meadows Park residents who take issue with plans to add 23 trailer sites to the already 153 lot park.
Judy Mortlock claims the park is in violation of multiple regulations under the 1985 Hillier agreement.
Mortlock says sites aren’t aren’t drained well, nor is waste properly disposed and they aren’t properly lit. She says the park has deteriorated under its new owner and there is debris everywhere.
John Ralph says there are 15 residents on a septic bed and they are concerned about the timing of it’s decommissioning as they had to endure horrible smells last year with the installation of a new transfer bed.
Councillor Jamie Forrester asked the residents if they are living there year round because the park is deemed seasonal. The residents replied they are full time tenants.
The matter is due back before council in March.
