The provincial government is helping the Brighton-Quinte West Family Health team add a new staff member.
Executive Director Sue White says M-P-P Lou Rinaldi made the announcement today, when the new Physician Assistant, Glen Bureau, began work. Bureau, who received his training at C-F-B Trenton, is not licenced as a nurse or nurse practioner, but can work directly with a physician.
White says the Brighton-Quinte West Family Health Team is one of only three in the Southeast LHIN with the program. The Ministry of Health is fully funding the salary, start up cost and ongoing costs for the two year project.
