Work continues toward a large project at the mouth of the Trent River in Trenton. Quinte West Mayor John Williams says a consultant has presented options for a sizeable marina at that location. He says the preference is for 374 slips…. Estimated costs for the marina, featuring a 7 thousand square foot canteen, shower, and clubhouse and landscaping is 8 to 9 million dollars. Quinte West staff is now finding out what permits the City will need from the Ministries of the Environment and Natural Resources, among other agencies. Consultants will soon produce a report on what the economic benefits of a big, modern marina would be to the local area, and Council will have to consider where the money will come from. A marina could be up and running in 2012 if all goes well.
