A more than two hour standoff with Quinte West OPP in Trenton ended peacefully with the arrest of a suspect just before 7 o’clock this evening. The OPP Tactical Rescue Team, K9 Unit, Firefighters and Paramedics responded to a home on Richard Street at the South end of Sidney Street, just before 5 o’clock, after reports of a man with a shotgun. Quinte West firefighters were informed the suspect had threatened to burn down the house. Negotiators spoke with the man and eventually took the suspect into custody. No one was injured.
