A man appears in court today in connection with a knife-wielding incident in Madoc that ended with him being tasered by police.
Central Hastings O-P-P say a man punched doors and threatened a woman and her daughter after an argument at a home on Concession Road on Saturday night. A male neighbour got involved when the victim was shoved against a wall, and he forced the man from the house. Police were also told the man had a knife and had threatened the victim with it, but he fled when officers arrived. He was later found at his home, armed with a large kitchen knife. The suspect didn’t comply with police, and was tasered and arrested. The 25-year-old Madoc man will appear in court for a bail hearing, charged with assault, mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of uttering threats, and obstructing police.
