The tension surrounding the issue of a new police station on the Tyendinaga Reserve has forced the closure today of the nearby school.
Quinte Mohawk School on York Road is only a short distance from the site where protestors forced a convoy of trucks, carrying the prefab building, to turn back yesterday.
School Principal Kathleen Manderville says the safety of students is important, and a decision on whether the school will reopen on Tuesday will be made by that morning..
