Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis calls it an “incredible, mind-boggling feat.” Mayor Ellis was commenting on Paula Stephanson’s Lake Michigan swim and her conquest of all five of the Great Lakes. He says the city is very proud of Paula and how she has put Belleville “on the map.” He phoned Stephanson to congratulate her. Mayor Ellis says “the city will certainly honour” the 30-year-old swimmer as soon as it can arranged around her schedule. Stephanson is a Bellevillian, but now teaches in Ottawa.
