Some fowl are getting the blame for the foul water at Lions’ Park Beach in Campbellford.
It has been posted as unsafe for swimming almost every week since water testing began in mid-June.
A health unit official says fecal waste from the large geese population in Campbellford is polluting the site on the Trent River.
He says it is the responsibility of the municipality, not the Board of Health, to deal with the over-abundance of birds in the community.
