A T-33 jet plane crashed on take-off at Canadian Forces Base Trenton Wednesday.
It was just 12 minutes past noon when the T-33 Silver Star jet aircraft was lifting off the tarmac at the Trenton base. As the jet reached 15 feet in the air it returned to the runway and skidded through the fence at the end of it. The plane came to rest just inside the outer fence …beside RCAF road. The civilian pilot was rushed to hospital on the base…RCAF Road was closed to traffic and Eight Wing crews immediately began cleaning up fuel and debris in the area. The condition of the pilot is not yet known.
