It’s more than just a golfing day as the seventh annual Rotary Loves Kids tournament tees off in Quinte on Friday.
While the main tournament gets underway at two golf courses, Black Bear Ridge and Trillium Woods, 30-kids-in-care of the Hastings Childrens Aid hit the links for a nine-hole tournament of their own, at the Bayview Gofing Centre. Chris Costello of Quinte Children’s Foundation says the money raised will go toward scholarships and other awards for victims of abuse or neglect. Costello says over the past six years Rotary has turned over thousands of dollars for the scholarship program and other programs as well.
