A temporary parking lot for Quinte Health Care in Belleville’s Bay Drive area gained approval at Belleville City Council last night. But residents of Bay Drive area say they’ll go the Ontario Municipal Board in a bid to stop a plan for 100-parking spaces in their neighbourhood. Spokesman Bill Tripp told Council residents are concerned that use of the Odd Fellows Hall lot would make the area unsafe for children. But Councillor Pat Culhane, a Q-H-C employee, says patients often have to drive around looking for parking when they go the Belleville General Hospital for treatment. The rezoning was approved on a recorded vote with Mayor Ellis, and Councillors Christopher and Denyes voting against.
