After more than 2-years of waiting….an arbitrator has delivered a ruling affecting the salaries of firefighters in Quinte West. Chair of the Protective Services Committee Councillor Paul Kyte who was part of the negotiating team in May of 2007 says the financial impact on the municipality is still being determined. The firefighters were seeking parity with the OPP. Kyte says the City and the Firefighters Association will likely unveil the financial details in a joint news release later this week. There are 14 fulltime firefighters in Quinte West.
