Health care professionals at Quinte Health Care and 40 other Ontario Hospitals are waiting for an arbitrator’s ruling to settle a contract dispute.
OPSEU Official Yves (Eve) Shank says the union and the hospitals presented their positions on wages, benefits and working conditions for the seven-thousand workers late last month, but there is no date for the arbitrator’s decision to be released.
The issues went to arbitration after the two sides weren’t able to reach an agreement during negotiations in Toronto in February.
The hospital employees include medical laboratory and radiation technologists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physiotherapists, dieticians, occupational therapists and social workers.
