A Campbellford scrap metal collector, who helped himself to two large sculptures while on a business call, will be sentenced later this summer.
Fifty-six-year-old Doug Snyder pleaded guilty in Peterborough court yesterday to theft over five-thousand dollars.
He was north of Havelock in April, 2008 to pick up an old bicycle, but also took two three-metre high, 200-kilogram steel sculptures, worth about 15-thousand dollars, from a neighbour’s lawn.
The statues were later sold to a scrap yard for 128 dollars. Snyder will be sentenced on August 13th.
