The mayor of Brighton is shocked at the latest move by Quinte Health Care.
Chris Herrington has learned the special care unit at the Trenton Hospital will be closed this Thursday, and if care is required, patients will be sent to internal medicine, or internal medicine in Belleville will be contacted if it’s not available in Trenton.
Herrington, who has been invited to sit on the Q-H-C Trenton Community Health Advisory Group, to discuss the hospital’s future, says a decision was obviously made without the group’s input.
She says she wants some answers at a meeting with Quinte Health officials tomorrow..
