The latest Grade-10 literacy test results in the Hastings Prince Edward School board is far below two other area boards….and below the provincial average. Superintendent Rob McGall says students in the academic and applied streams were at or above provincial average, but special needs students were below average. McGall says some work has to be done in that area, using more resources and refining the program. The Hastings Prince Edward had 76-percent passing the test, the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic Board had 92-percent and Kawartha Pine Ridge had a success rate of 81-percent……….the provincial average was 85-percent
