You can plan on taking the long way again today if your morning commute usually takes you over the Skyway Bridge. For a third straight morning a group of renegade native protestors have the Highway-49 expanse blocked. Tyendinaga Police Chief Ron Maracle says his police service won’t try to break up such a large demonstration. Maracle says negotiatons with the protestors responsible for the blockake continue, and removing them, with the help of the O-P-P, would be a last resort.
